Class Schedules
Aqua Fit

A mix of cardiovascular and resistance training in the shallow end of the pool.  Great for beginning to intermediate level exercisers with minimal impact.

You do not need to know how to swim to participate!

Body Pump

Get lean, tone, and fit fast while listening to motivating, upbeat music!

Barbell workout lifting moderate weights for lots of repetitions.

Body Combat

Punch and kick your way to fitness with this high energy, martial arts inspired workout!  Release stress, have a blast, and feel empowered during this 60 minute non-contact class.
Only offered at John P. Thayer YMCA.


Take your fitness to a whole new level!
45 minutes of weights, body weight exercises, and plyometric moves.
Modifications available for every fitness level.

Cardio 30          Core 30

CARDIO 30: uses a height adjustable bench for a mix of simple step and high intensity intervals to enhance your cardio endurance.
CORE 30: builds strength and stability as well as balance and coordination.  

Modifications available for every fitness level.

Only have 30 minutes?  Choose Cardio or Core.  Have 60 minutes? Do both!


Perfect blend of deep muscle toning and stretching!

Sculpt your body and build increases agility in your everyday movements through challenging core exercises.


Total body strength fusion style format for people who like to sweat! Short bursts of cardiovascular work and strength training provide full-body conditioning. Dynamic balance, dance conditioning, plyometrics, strength, and functional training emphasizing the athleticism of Pilates and yoga. This class is high-intensity, but low impact & therefore great for any level of fitness!


Low impact, cycling workout where you control the intensity!  A 45 minute journey of hill climbs, sprints, and flat rides to boost your cardio fitness.

Express in a 30 minute format; great for beginners or if you are short on time.  Extended is a 60 minute format to push your cardio fitness to the next level!


A fun-loving, insanely addictive, 45 minute dance workout!

Experience an ego-free zone - no dance experience required class.

Even if you walk in thinking you can't , you'll walk out knowing you can!

SilverSneakers Circuit

A standing, low-impact class alternated with upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball.  A chair is available.

Suitable for nearly every fitness level and can be adapted depending on your skill level.

SilverSneakers Classic

Increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living through a variety of exercises.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance.  A chair is used for seated or standing support.

Suitable for beginning to intermediate skill levels.


Explore basic postures, breathing techniques, and deep stretching.  Classes vary with each instructor.  Options available for all fitness levels.

Advanced will incorporate more challenging poses as options for those desiring to try them.
