2020 has been a year like no other in recent history. For many people across our country and in our communities, there were times it felt like there was no relief in sight – and that feeling continues as we approach year-end. We at the YMCA of Columbus, GA never want anyone to feel that sense of despair.
As the leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the community, we have been working harder than ever before to make sure everyone in our community feels safe and cared for as we navigate these challenging times together.
Throughout this year, we have been determined to hold our community together and provide hope to the weary. We have launched services to support those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 fight and we have focused on meeting the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors. Here in the Chattahoochee Valley, we provided resources in the form of a Crisis Childcare Program and Virtual Learning Academy for over 250 children. But these services have come at a cost that we simply cannot continue to meet without additional help. While some federal relief has helped us provide essential programs and services, our community needs have been great, and we now need your help to continue this critical work.
