CPR/AED First Aid Classes

The John P. Thayer YMCA offers American Red Cross Blended Learning CPR/AED and First Aid to the community.This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infantsall while meetint OSHA/workplace requirements. The online portion of this blended course features an interactive experience where you will respond to real-world emergencies in a virtual setting – which will prepare you for the instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours to complete the online portion if you are new to First Aid/CPR/AED training or 45 minutes if you have previously received certification. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. You must complete the online portion, print out or capture your Certificate of Completion and bring it with you to class.

  • First you must register at the John P. Thayer YMCA front desk and pay your participation fee of $10.00. Once you have registered, you will receive a link to sign up and complete the on-line training this is a $35.00 fee. The eLearning section must be completed 2 days prior to the class date. Once you have passed the class the instructor will be notified and you can attend the in-person skill assessment test on the scheduled date.

Classes space is limited to the first 10 participants who register.

**Please know you will need to bring the receipt and your eLearning confirmation to the class or you will not be able to participate.

To register you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Sign up at the John P. Thayer YMCA front desk located at 24 14th St. Columbus, GA 31901, pay $10.00
  2. Once you have registered and paid for your $10.00 assessment test the instructor will send the link to your email address provided for you to complete the eLearning portion $35.00.
  3. Print off your receipt and confirmation, bring these 2 documents to class on the scheduled date.
